ARTIST
& FUNDRAISER
These two identities, artist and fundraiser, may seem worlds apart. But embracing both has revealed what I’m most compelled to create:
That magical spark that happens within us that reminds us of our shared humanity. The one that disarms us. The one that ignites compassion, connection, and action.
Being an artist makes me a better fundraiser.
Being a fundraiser makes me a better artist.
Whether I’m stitching new life into a found photograph of a stranger or matching an organization with the right passionate donor who will fuel meaningful change together, my work is fundamentally focused on our shared humanity.
Can this illustration help us laugh at this odd, ordinary and extra life we’re all experiencing? What is it about the incredible work this organization is doing that will connect with this specific prospect and make them think, “I can’t not be a part of this change"? Will a moment spent considering the story of someone in a found photograph help us to take the time to think of the stories of the people in our communities?
Guided by a stubborn hope and a refusal to accept the world as it is, I do what I can in my corner of it—through art that sparks connection and fundraising that supports change.
